Community Management is the Future of All Management

It is clear organizations need to change. They do not empower and engage individuals. Poor employee engagement has been a challenge for many years, but the increasing complexity of digital channels and the COVID pandemic have laid bare the issue. It is now clear that organizations need to change in ways that go far beyond adding new tools. However, new tools also enable new possibilities and provide the potential for more equity, transparency, and self-management IF leaders have the courage to trust their employees. Communities offer a model for how organizations could be structured to take advantage of these benefits and - in so doing - benefit both individuals and organizations. To do so will require all leaders and managers to understand and use the disciplines of community management. As organizations move toward this digitally connected future, all management will become community management.
